Update

Thought it was about time that I updated the virtual world on what's going on. Last Sunday I visited the A&E because I was having trouble with swallowing food, it was causing a lot of discomfort in my back. After the usual tests, like taking blood and such, they sent me for a chest x ray. After that, I was put in the emergency assessment ward. They ended up keeping me in, until Tuesday night. It turned out I have an infection and my immune was very low. So I was kept in a room, instead of the ward. Wasn't a very nice few days, the nurses always have trouble with my veins, when getting blood and inserting cannulas. So my arms are all bruised :(
On an even more painful note, my right hand seized and locked a lot last night. But on the funny side of it, was amusing trying to shave myself in the bath. Was like a race to shave my legs in between the moments my hand was locking.
Tomorrow I have to go up to the UCLH ( Hospital ), for my chemotherapy. I don't mind it, the journey is a bit long but it gives me a chance to spend time with my Dad, as he always takes me. :)
But then we'll be rushing home because I'm going to be opening the door for trick or treaters! Went crazy in ASDA the other day, getting sweets and such for Halloween. But now I need to rush round town today, getting an outfit. Pound land, here I come!
Chow for now, pot noodle is calling my name!

Food!

Evening!
My second post and it's mainly going to be about food, haha.
The booklets warned that I might loose my appetite or start to eat more. Guess which one I'm suffering from?
I can't stop eating! Plus I seem to crave such random things. I simply saw cranberry sauce mentioned in a book earlier and it made me want Christmas dinner. Roast potatoes, vegetables.. fake turkey for me though, am a vegetarian. But dipping the vegetarian meat in cranberry sauce is lovely. But sadly, I can't just pop out and buy some, haha. Maybe I could improvise and use some quorn from the fridge plus get some cranberry sauce tomorrow. :)
Macdonald's is another problem. The saltiness really satisfies my taste buds at the moment but it's so unhealthy!
On a slightly serious note, I'm doing well emotional wise. Got upset earlier today but in a good mood currently, been entering online competitions in hope of winning something for once.
I need to advertise my blog on a site, so people start reading my ramblings! So far, no attention on here. :(
If you do stumble across my blog, don't feel shy and feel free to leave a comment!
Take care, everyone!

The beginning of the journey!

Hi!
The name's Bridget, eighteen years old and full of life despite my situation. Unfortunately on the 7th October 2008, I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. The initial shock was difficult to handle but it's got so much easier in a short period of time. On the 8th I was admitted to the UCLH ( University College London Hospital ), on the teenage cancer ward. I have to mention how lovely the place is and how nice the staff are! Really made me feel safe and in good hands. My chemotherapy has started but luckily I don't seem to be feeling too ill with it. On the 17th, I came back home in the evening. Was strange leaving the hospital because it had got me into such a routine but it's so good to be back with my family. I don't have to visit there again until the 24th, which is this coming Friday. Even then, it'll only be for an hour or so while they give me some more chemotherapy. After that, it'll be straight back home again!
Seeing as my hair is likely to completely fall out during treatment, I got it cut yesterday. It's not dramatically short but it ends just above my shoulders. I never thought I could manage a shortish style but I really love it now! :)
I've rambled enough for now so I'll be off, though I might update again later as one post is hardly much so far.
