Back again!

Sorry I haven't wrote anything in so long! Been slightly caught up with going back and forth to hospital all the time, just don't feel the urge to bother with much else anymore. But I'm trying again, so hopefully people will start reading the blog once more! Unfortunately I'm fighting an infection or two at the moment, my portacath is in danger of having to be removed if they can't sort it out. Hope that doesn't happen, otherwise I don't know what's next? Would they put another one in or go back to using cannulas? I don't know.. Can't ramble for too long, need to get dressed and make my way to the local hospital for an injection, for the infection. :/ Oh well. Perhaps when I return home, I'll feel abit more lively and will attempt to post something more interesting and positive. Until then.. cheerio! x

Ebay..

Very.. very quick post to say.. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/essexbudgie/
Check out my ebay, you might get a bargain!
On other side of things, chest and neck is sore from the port. I'll be posting again later today, to explain more about it and how things are getting on. But right now, I'm busy uploading stuff onto ebay. :)

Laughter is the cure!

Bit of a random update! Nothing -leukaemiafied- allowed in this post! :D
Dad came round after work despite not feeling too well, which was nice of him. He gave me the three little ribbon designs he has made, for our charity. One is made from ribbon.. the other two are pipe cleaners. Red and white, to stand for the red and white blood cells. I've got some photos Dad sent me so I'll make sure I get round to uploading them eventually. It's nice to see that I've got four followers but none of you have commented on the blogs, you bad people! :P
Anyway, I was ment to be talking about laughter. For some reason, I couldn't stop laughing when Dad came round earlier. Anything remotely funny someone said, I was cracked up. I hadn't giggled so much in ages. But that's exactly my point.. it was really nice. And it's kept me in a really good mood, despite the fact that I look pregnant. Yeh, my stomach is swollen. I should pretend I'm pregnant so the people give up their seats on buses for me, heheh. Dyed my sisters hair, hope I didn't miss out a massive chunk.. mwahaha! ;D
Anyone as excited about christmas as me? I'm tempted to look in the cd collection for a christmas album. How sad of me.. But it's just so fun planning for it! I got some stuff today, not much but things I need to make four of my friends home made gifts. Course I'm buying them proper presents as well but I'd like to make something special. :D
I think I've rambled enough, my pot noodle is going cold. Yum yum!
Bye for now.

By the way, anyone have some scarves or hats they would like to donate to me? Bald patches are so last year, heheh.

Smile

Another day, another update!
Yesterday was the long trek to University College London Hospital for more chemotherapy. As usual, they have to put a cannula in so they can give me the injections. But luckily needles don't bother me so it's not bad. We got seen to really quickly, which was nice. And was leaving london by half twelve. We got back at three, so I was able to get everything ready for the trick or treaters!

Anyway, on a more interesting topic.. we're starting a charity. :D my dad and me want to raise money to buy a holiday home, for other cancer sufferers and their families to relax at, for free. Obviously we'll raise money for other things as well but yeh. :)

Feeling quite positive today except my stomach is really hurting.

Might update again later today, bit tired at the moment. Cheerio for now!

Update

Thought it was about time that I updated the virtual world on what's going on. Last Sunday I visited the A&E because I was having trouble with swallowing food, it was causing a lot of discomfort in my back. After the usual tests, like taking blood and such, they sent me for a chest x ray. After that, I was put in the emergency assessment ward. They ended up keeping me in, until Tuesday night. It turned out I have an infection and my immune was very low. So I was kept in a room, instead of the ward. Wasn't a very nice few days, the nurses always have trouble with my veins, when getting blood and inserting cannulas. So my arms are all bruised :(
On an even more painful note, my right hand seized and locked a lot last night. But on the funny side of it, was amusing trying to shave myself in the bath. Was like a race to shave my legs in between the moments my hand was locking.
Tomorrow I have to go up to the UCLH ( Hospital ), for my chemotherapy. I don't mind it, the journey is a bit long but it gives me a chance to spend time with my Dad, as he always takes me. :)
But then we'll be rushing home because I'm going to be opening the door for trick or treaters! Went crazy in ASDA the other day, getting sweets and such for Halloween. But now I need to rush round town today, getting an outfit. Pound land, here I come!
Chow for now, pot noodle is calling my name!

Food!

Evening!
My second post and it's mainly going to be about food, haha.
The booklets warned that I might loose my appetite or start to eat more. Guess which one I'm suffering from?
I can't stop eating! Plus I seem to crave such random things. I simply saw cranberry sauce mentioned in a book earlier and it made me want Christmas dinner. Roast potatoes, vegetables.. fake turkey for me though, am a vegetarian. But dipping the vegetarian meat in cranberry sauce is lovely. But sadly, I can't just pop out and buy some, haha. Maybe I could improvise and use some quorn from the fridge plus get some cranberry sauce tomorrow. :)
Macdonald's is another problem. The saltiness really satisfies my taste buds at the moment but it's so unhealthy!
On a slightly serious note, I'm doing well emotional wise. Got upset earlier today but in a good mood currently, been entering online competitions in hope of winning something for once.
I need to advertise my blog on a site, so people start reading my ramblings! So far, no attention on here. :(
If you do stumble across my blog, don't feel shy and feel free to leave a comment!
Take care, everyone!

The beginning of the journey!

Hi!
The name's Bridget, eighteen years old and full of life despite my situation. Unfortunately on the 7th October 2008, I was diagnosed with Leukaemia. The initial shock was difficult to handle but it's got so much easier in a short period of time. On the 8th I was admitted to the UCLH ( University College London Hospital ), on the teenage cancer ward. I have to mention how lovely the place is and how nice the staff are! Really made me feel safe and in good hands. My chemotherapy has started but luckily I don't seem to be feeling too ill with it. On the 17th, I came back home in the evening. Was strange leaving the hospital because it had got me into such a routine but it's so good to be back with my family. I don't have to visit there again until the 24th, which is this coming Friday. Even then, it'll only be for an hour or so while they give me some more chemotherapy. After that, it'll be straight back home again!
Seeing as my hair is likely to completely fall out during treatment, I got it cut yesterday. It's not dramatically short but it ends just above my shoulders. I never thought I could manage a shortish style but I really love it now! :)
I've rambled enough for now so I'll be off, though I might update again later as one post is hardly much so far.
